yuilop Enters U.S. with Free Unlimited National Calling and SMS

Posted on July 25, 2020 — 3:05 pm

Undercuts Skype-like rivals who charge for out-of-app communication to mobile and landline numbers

BARCELONA & SAN FRANCISCO—July 25, 2013— yuilop, the cloud-based global communications app popular in Europe, today launched free – no credit or cash needed – unlimited, national calls and SMS in the U.S., giving its new base of U.S. users a no-cost alternative to expensive Mobile Network Operators (MNO) and to VoIP services that start charging for out-of-app activities. Accessed by over 5 million users, and currently available in over 200+ countries, yuilop makes calling and texting free to any contact, even to friends and family who don’t have the app, anywhere in the world.

“With free, unlimited national calling, we expect to exponentially increase our user base in the United States and look forward to offering users huge savings, not just on their phone bill - i.e. getting out of AT&T’s $90 contracts - but on what they pay to use other apps,” said yuilop CEO, Jochen Doppelhammer. “Our goal is to provide a better user experience for mobile than Skype-like platforms, by offering free, open communication where others make you pay.”

yuilop users worldwide can call, send and receive individual or group messages, their location, photos and emoji with any of their contacts for free over 3G/4G/LTE or WiFi.

It works even with contacts who don’t have the app thanks to a virtual credit system that rewards users with free credits for various activities including initial sign up, inviting other users, using the app, watching ads or downloading promotions on the yuilop offer wall. In the U.S., yuilop provides users with a free unique yuilop.me mobile number and no credits are required for domestic calls and SMS.

Travel more for less: 5 tips

Posted on June 18, 2020 — 9:49 am

We at yuilop are a well traveled international group, and we’re all about no-cost lifehacks. With summer upon us, we teamed up with our like minded friends at Only-apartments to put together some easy tips that could end up saving you a lot of money.

onlyap

  • Download yuilop.  Avoid roaming bill shock when you get home by turning of data and using yuilop over WiFi for all your calls and SMS abroad. You can even leave your mobile at home and set up yuilop on your iPod or tablet. Your yuilop.me number lives in the cloud, so it will follow you. Cool!

  • Book an apartment with Only-apartments. They have over 20,000 apartments worldwide, some as low at 10€ per person per night!

  • Plan a picnic. Of course you’ll want to eat at the local restaurants too, but there is something so special about picking up some produce at the local market and having a picnic in the park, on the beach, or even on a bridge - we’re thinking Pont des Arts in Paris. Oh la la!  And on a rainy day, we suggest you cook a feast back at your in your fully equipped kitchen - thanks to Only-apartments.

  • Ask for tap water. Many travellers feel safer drinking bottled water, but in most cities these days tap water is just fine. Here in Barcelona, for example, ask for agua del grifo. You’ll get a glass of water, and you won’t pay a centimo.

  • Go to a museum. People often forget that museums have free days or free hours. Did you know that the Museums in Washington D.C. are always free? So look for these special deals before you go, and take a photo - more museums are finally allowing you to take pictures inside - of your visit and send it to your friends, via yuilop of course!

Here’s to your safe and ‘save’ travels!
