Veterans’ day

Posted on November 11, 2020 — 10:00 am

At 11:00 am, on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, fighting officially ceased between Germany and the Allies during World War 1. An Armistice with Germany was signed, agreeing to bring a final close to the violence between these nations on this exact day, at this exact time.  In the following years November 11th was recognized as holiday in nations around the world to celebrate an end to the war.

The holiday is known by different names in different countries, such as Remembrance Day and Armistice Day, but each nation celebrates the common theme of joy to the War’s end, and recognize those who fought in it.  Veterans day, as it is called in the United States, is considered a day to recognize and pay respect to all U.S. military veterans.

Happy Veterans Day yuilopers! We hope you will find a moment in your day to reach out to any veterans you know and recognize their service.
