yuilop, the cloud-based global communications service that allows users to make free calls and texts via 3G/4G/LTE or WiFi is celebrating one year of offering real mobile telephone numbers to its users in Germany. Over the past year, more than 60% of yuilop users in that market have registered for a number, which makes it possible to receive calls across devices and easier to earn credits. The success of mobile phone numbers in the cloud has allowed yuilop to launch the service (yuilop.me) in other markets, including Spain, the US and most recently the UK.
“Germany was our first yuilop.me market, so we weren’t sure what the demand would be,” said Founder and CEO Jochen Doppelhammer. “And over half of our users undestood right away the huge benefit of having a phone number in the cloud where it can follow you, and growth has not stopped since. We take that as a clear signal on our mission to make communication free for everyone and launch the product in other countries as well.”
After downloading yuilop and registering for a yuilop number, users recieve an actual German telephone number with wich calls can be made and recieved on any device with a connection to the internet. The yuilop user can then receive that call on their smartphone, tablet or even iPod. The biggest benefit over competitors like Whatsapp and Viber is the possibilty to call any contact. The other party is not requiered to have the app. Any number mobile or fixed line can be called with the previously collected credit.
In addition to the Germany, yuilop.me is currently available in Spain, the US and the UK. More countries, as well more features like voicemail and a web application, are planned for the near future.
