Visual Designer (Intern)

It brings thought-provoking ideas to the table and pushes creativity and excellence in execution to build compelling products.

We are looking for a fresh mind passionate about putting the user at the forefront. The designer will be reporting to the Design Director and collaborating with our business, advertising and development teams to implement experiences that generate real and meaningful benefits.

 

What you’ll be doing
• Respond to design requests in a variety of media (including print and online)
• Develop graphics and visuals for use in product development, presentations and in other communication tools
• Help maintain visual consistency across a range of outputs

Requirements
• Recently graduated or currently completing a creative degree at college
• Strong applications experience: (Adobe CS: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Experience with HTML/CSS
• Experience with user interface design is a plus
• Must be an effective problem solver. Come up with creative solutions and consider many alternative solutions to each problem
• Excellent skills in graphic design, and an eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and refined style
• A robust portfolio that showcases your work (please supply PDF or url)

This position runs for six months, is paid and has the potential to turn into a long-term employment. It’s Barcelona based.

UI/UX Senior Designer

As a UI/UX Senior Designer you will focus on yuilop’s mobile platform, work closely with developers, business, marketing and design team throughout all stages of the product cycle to create compelling, coherent and user friendly designs.

You are a creative thinker with the ability to express concepts verbally and visually and refine them throughout the design process up to final production work enabling you to have an impact on the mobile experience of our growing yuilop community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate user feedback and business requirements into hand-held device and web interfaces
  • Deliver preliminary mockups, pie-in-the sky mockups and final mockups
  • Understand specific requirements for each mobile platform and deliver pixel perfect assets
  • Ensure the coherent visual presentation of several yuilop touch-points on devices and on the broader Internet
  • Contribute to the continuing development of yuilop’s visual style
  • Develop new approaches to complex design problems and convey ideas in tangible and aesthetically refined forms

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience creating interfaces, large scale websites, or applications
  • Mobile experience
  • A hard-earned bachelor’s degree in design or a related subject – or the equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator is required; a working knowledge of Adobe Flash, After Effects, CSS and HTML is a plus
  • A solid understanding of hand-held device / web graphics techniques and production practices
  • A solid understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Strong creative and visual skills; the ability to explain your thinking; strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and with a group

Technical QA

Job Responsibilities

  • Yuilop International planning, design, and implementation
  • Providing test advice to developers
  • Teaming up with developers to create automated  test suites

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Experience in at least one scripting language (bash, lua, python, etc).
  • Extensive experience on Linux platforms.

  • Experience with Mobile Platforms iOS and Android

Preferred Job Qualifications

Challenge: Sanity Bot

Create an XMPP Bot using the language of your preference that test a list of

external components availability using XEP-0199.

The checks SHOULD be performed periodically every 5 minutes and provide a

list of which services are online with the measured latency of the responses

and a list of the components that did not replied within 5 seconds.

The bot SHOULD be able to login in the XMPP Server using a regular JID and

password.

The bot SHOULD alert if the XMPP Server is not available or not accepting

login.

VP Engineering

As our VP Engineer reporting to our CEO , you are the one who will have the responsibility to work with a team of engineering and technical development and help them excel.  Do you have experience bringing structure to an organization? Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead teams of  server and client side developers to deliver new and enhanced products.
  • Manage day to day running of the teams and ensure the coordination between client and server teams
  • Work collaboratively with our product manager and other stakeholders to ensure results meet requirements;
  • Provide Agile management and detailed tracking and reporting of projects, , as well as analysis of the impact of scope change and resource reallocations on release timelines.
  •  Set the standards and guidelines for software product development processes and deliverables, measure performance against the standards, and drive improvements when and where needed

  • Ensure that the technical team is excelling in their duties and responsibilities

Person Requirements:

  •  5+ years’ experience in software engineering team management positions
  • Extensive experience with software development methodologies and principles of software development
  • Proven track record of building and managing strong software development teams
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple software products/services on time, with a commitment to quality
  • Strong technical skills, especially with software  design and architecture
  • Ability to effectively sponsor/manage multiple software projects, and to take ownership of complex development efforts
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines – Understanding of telecommunication technology
